Papercrete Workshop description:
Learn how to use recycled paper and basic hardware materials to make papercrete for outdoor sculptures. We will be building on cement blocks to create decorative sculptures for Iglesias Gardens! All materials provided.
What is Papercrete? Papercrete is a low-cost, lightweight building material made from recycled paper pulp and cement. It can be used to create planters, small sculptural forms, and experimental building elements like panels or blocks.

Join Big Community Paper & Iglesias Gardens on Oct. 11th, 2-6pm, for an Art Picnic Learn & Share with Philly Dye Club & Penpals for Palestine! Live music from Fire Museum Presents.
Share your creative endeavors with the neighborhood—do you draw? bake? crochet? or any other forms of self-expression you partake in?
Come to the garden to Share & Learn creativity with your fellow neighbors! Big Community Paper will lead paper making demos at 2pm, Philly Dye Club will lead us in a community bundle dye, beginning at 3:30pm, using scraps of marigold, black beans, onion & avocado skins to dye natural cotton fabrics and Penpals for Palestine! will facilitate their exquisite corpse style correspondence art exchange, throughout the afternoon, to be sent to their collaborators in Palestine.
